Sales Spotlight: Emily Sapione

Meet Emily Sapione, our CODARUS territory sales manager for New England, New Jersey + New York.

Based in Connecticut, Emily has been with CODARUS since 2015 and repping the TL at Home line for the past three years – since we joined the national sales management team’s family of brands.

“In the first three months of repping TL at Home, I was overwhelmed,” she told us, laughing. “There was so much to learn. I felt a little intimidated.”

It didn’t take long for her “AHA!” moment to come along, she said. “Suddenly, everything clicked! It all became easier for me when I broke it down into three major groups: Fashion fabrics. Sheeting. Coverlets.”

Our lifestyle photography is also helpful to Emily, “showing how designers put it all together. The whole collection can be mixed and matched.”

But the best part about TL at Home: Our inclusiveness.

“The whole household can enjoy it, all members – people and pets. If paw prints stain it, not a problem. Just throw it into the washer and it will look brand new again!”

Emily is creative and innovative about how she collaborates with clients and motivates sales of our line. Inspired by a showroom-based event she attended during a trade show in mid 2018, Emily recently came up with a new way to showcase and sell TL at Home products (and other CODARUS brands) to designers, decorators and boutiques in her multi-state region.

She launched a “Bed + Bath Open House” event at her Darien, Conn. home. Held May 17-19, for six hours daily, the event featured displays of our products and other lines throughout the common rooms of her home to give clients a convenient, safe and inspiring way to shop in person. (She also served tasty lite bites + bubbly beverages, to attendees’ delight!)

We helped, providing Vintage Velvet fabric strips to tie around and adorn her wine bottle giveaways to clients who came by and shopped.

“I thought having everything presented beautifully in a single location would give them a chance to dive in and see and feel the products first hand, at their convenience, instead of me bringing them swatches that don’t necessarily tell the whole story.”

It was such a success, which is why “I’m doing it again in September!”

Emily continued: “They loved it! Designers were able to come in at a time that was best for them during the open house, and work comfortably – some even with their own clients – on developing projects around our products. It was really great!”

Emily will promote her next event with digital mailers and a social media campaign later this summer. Stay tuned!
